Jervis Bay Wedding: Desiree & Dhany

I'm probably the only person who doesn't mind crying at work. My advantage is that I usually have a camera in front of my eyes, which comes in quite handy.
One would think that attending many weddings would make us photographers less sensitive to emotions. But this is not the case! If anything, it's emotions that make us love our job more and keep us going. We are on the lookout for them all the time. Just like love makes the world go round, love is our inspiration. We need to feel in order to produce images that breathe those feelings.

This brings me to Desiree and Dhany's wedding (some of you might remember their engagement session). This was one of the most love-filled weddings I had the honour to witness. Love between the Bride and Groom, love between the couple and their parents, love between their friends - all of them. So, of course, lots of hugs and I love you's were exchanged, and tears were running down cheeks. Emotional highlights included tributes to Desiree's mum who passed away a while ago. Myra from My Violet, as a true wedding florist superstar, included a photo of Desiree's mum in the Bridal bouquet. This especially resonated with me as I lost my father a few years ago and my Godfather walked me down the aisle instead.

Dhany and Desiree are truly beautiful people inside and out, and are so respected and loved by everyone around them. They treated us like friends from the start and even invited us as guests at the reception. We had the most wonderful time.

Desiree and Dhany, thank you for being who you are, for being our new friends, and for bringing so much joy to your loved ones. Have a fantastic time on your honeymoon in Mauritius! x

Sydney Engagement: Michelle & John

I love Michelle and John, and not just because they booked me on the spot at our first meeting! :))
If I had a list of what would make the ideal client, they'd tick off all the boxes: Happy, friendly, down to earth and anti-bridezilla.

Before their engagement session, Michelle sent me an e-mail explaining that she was nervous because she's usually uncomfortable in front of a camera and she's not photogenic. YEAH RIGHT! As you'll see, Michelle is particularly photogenic, and she kept laughing during the whole shoot which is a photographer's dream! John also played the part really well and didn't shy away from showing his love and affection for Michelle.

Michelle and John, I'm so grateful you chose to go with me to document your wedding and I can't wait for next October!
